SNR Chips
S.N.R made the chips with pure coconut oil, that keeps our product with a unique taste and make its mark on the food map of Kerala. We are at the town in Alathur alongside the Thrissur-Palakkad highway. From 1947, S.N.R sustain the quality and taste, is one of the main reason that tasted by the heart of customers across the world. S.N.R chips will be open on all days of the week from 9 am to 9 pm, except for Sundays when they close down by 1 pm.
The S.N.R. chips (Alathur chips) was started by Sahul Hameed in 1947 as a cottage industry. The tradition was taken forward by his successors. We procure special bananas, which are cultivated only to make chips, from farmers in Thrissur. We chop bananas into thin slices, mix them with turmeric powder and spices, and fry them in pure coconut oil to make them tasty. During Onam, different types of chips, including the one made with jaggery called Sharkaravaratti, are in great demand.
